About Basingstoke Live
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has a well established reputation for staging free music events like Jammin' in the Park and One Beat. In 2007 the council joined forces with local promoters in Basingstoke and Deane to put on the inaugural Basingstoke Live Music Festival with the aim of uniting the town in hosting a diverse range of local, regional, national and international musical talent that would bring Basingstoke to life and had something for everyone.
Now in its fourth year Basingstoke Live is more than just a music festival. Music is still at the heart of the festival but in order to celebrate the creativity of artists from around the borough and region you will find a whole range of acts from music, art, drama and dance.
Basingstoke Live is put together by the Basingstoke Live Forum. The Forum is a collection of promoters coordinated by Drum Runners Trading. The event and programme would not be possible without the hard work of these local people who have a passion for music and the arts and celebrating all that is good about Basingstoke.

Audio Basho
Dave Halls & Graham Dibley
What exactly is an Audio Basho? Well, AUDIO is connected with sound and the recording and broadcasting of sound, while BASHO is the Japanese word for sumo-tournament. Define AUDIO BASHO as a series of ‘audio-bouts’ where you’ll see a number of Rikishi DJs stepping up to make crowds rave with a mix of some of the freshest, most energetic beats across a balance of genres. Inspired by the Japanese link, only a handful of Audio Basho are held each year, so each is a rare opportunity for those who aspire to step forward and distinguish themselves.

Unplgd! & vinvolved
vinvolved
vinvolved encourages and supports young people aged 16 to 25 throughout North Hampshire to get involved in local events such as Basingstoke Live and volunteer within many charitable organisations and groups. This enables young people to gain new experiences, skills, find new interests and a sense of achievement.
We also help and support young people to have a voice in the community and start their own projects. Unplgd! is an example of one such project.
Unplgd!
Basingstoke Unplgd! is a free self promotional platform dedicated to and run by local volunteer musicians.
Unplgd! provides up & coming musicians with valuable promotional tools such as (HD) high definition live video footage, professional audio recording and photographs of their performances at the event, which will be uploaded to their own profile on the Unplgd! website, and it’s all-FREE! The aim is for the Unplgd! events to become recognised by music industry scouts as the place to go to find the best of the town's acoustic music. We hope that by providing these young artists with the promotional tools, they will be able to use them to further their musical careers and as a result raise the profile of Basingstoke’s music scene!
The events run once a month in The Exchange at The Haymarket, with an average of 5 selected acts per evening. The events have given the young musicians an opportunity to work alongside professional musicians and technicians which has allowed them to gain the valuable knowledge and experience they would need to succeed in the music industry.
