Basingstoke Live Fringe Festival 2011

What is the Fringe?

In the three weeks in the build up to the festival weekend, the Fringe is an opportunity for the business and community worlds to make their mark on Basingstoke Live in the form of the Fringe and stage their own events. Anybody can stage an event as part of the Basingstoke Live Fringe. The more inclusive, eclectic and diverse the programme, the better it will be!

What qualifies as a Fringe event?

You must be able to organise, manage and host your own event in your own venue (or in a partners’ venue) and it should be something that furthers the objectives of your organisation. It can contain live art forms of any kind, such as theatre, dance, music, comedy, storytelling or anything else. It could be a free event or a paid for, that's your decision!

You must be able to hold the event within the three weeks leading to the festival in 2011 (exact dates tbc) and you must carry out your own promotion of the event clearly showing it as a Basingstoke Live event and displaying the official Basingstoke Live logo.

The event programme must also be suitable for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to be seen to promote.

What do I get in return?

Your event will be promoted along with all the other activities that form part of
the Basingstoke Live Fringe.

This will include:

A listing on The Basingstoke Live Official Website Fringe section with a
link to your own website.

  • Inclusion of your logo as a Fringe Contributor
  • Production of a flier to promote the Fringe. The exact nature of this will depend on the number and nature of Fringe events
  • Promotion on Kestrel FM by presenters doing a daily feature of the Fringe events taking place each day.
  • Listing on Kestrel FM website with link to your own website
  • Fringe programme advertisement in The Gazette (subject to confirmation)
  • A pack of blank posters / fliers containing the Basingstoke Live branding to add your own text to and display at your own venue
